Visit the Dehesa

The Dehesa de Salamanca is a unique and characteristic ecosystem of the Spanish landscape, composed of extensive areas of grassland dotted with holm oaks and cork oaks. This idyllic landscape is not only beautiful, but is also an important livestock farming area, especially for the breeding of fighting bulls and Iberian pigs.

The dehesa is an example of sustainable agriculture that has been shaped by centuries of human interaction with the environment, and is home to a rich biodiversity, including emblematic species of flora and fauna. It represents a fundamental part of Salamanca’s rural heritage.

Enjoy a day full of learning and unique experiences in one of the most emblematic landscapes of the region and experience a full immersion in the ecosystem and traditions of the Dehesa de Salamanca.

We will start the tour in the direction of the Dehesa Charra, where there will be an introduction to the dehesa and its importance. Afterwards, we will start a guided hiking route to explore the local flora and fauna.

Al terminar, se visitará una ganadería de toros bravos para conocer el proceso de cría. At the end, we will visit a bull breeding farm to learn about the breeding process. Finally, we will enjoy a sausage-making workshop, followed by a visit to an Iberian ham factory and bird and wildlife watching.
